# WATWB -Preethi Srinivasan & # A-Z April Challenge, 2019

This year my focus for the April Challenge 2019 is on Nature. I am posting pictures of nature and writing thoughts that inspire me.  I am combining this #WAWTB post with the #April A-Z 2019 challenge.

Preethi Srinivasan from Tamilnadu, India led the women’s cricket team to the National level at the very young age of 17. She supposed to have survived a tragic accident that made her quadriplegic at 18. She is also a champion in swimming and has won a state gold in 50 m breaststroke and silver in other events.

Preethi is an inspiration as even the tragic accident did not stop her from moving ahead in life. She  co founded a Non Governmental Organization called Soul free that champions the causes of restoring, rehabilitating and reintegrating those suffering lethal spinal cord injuries and spreads awareness on its prevention among the Indian youth.

Despite the tragedy in her life, having become wheel bound the 34 year old Preethi motivates and instills hope to those women who suffer from various kinds of physical disabilities. She is known to be a motivational speaker too.

Preethi’s story is heartwarming and I am so inspired as I kept reading about her – I admire her grit, courage and strength to move on despite the tragedy in her life. She is a great example of what one can achieve in life, if one is devoted, dedicated and committed to pursue dreams, think big and look at all the problems like stepping stones to reach their goals.

She is known to have won plenty of awards and titles like Ray of Hope, Women Achiever, Dhruva award for excellence in social work etc.

Its persons like Preethi who make the world a better place to live in; they are lights amidst darkness, shining brightly by believing in self, having the perseverance and never give up on life easily. I was impressed with her initiative wherein she is willing to lift others who need help.

May Preethi’s story inspire us to do what we can and make this world a beautiful place not only for us but also for the future generations to come.
