April blogging #A-Z 2018- R

This post is written for the April blogging #A-Z 2018.
I have chosen the theme Books and Authors for this year.

ROBIN SHARMA – The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari

I was introduced to this book by one of my friends who was highly inspired and was encouraging me to read this book. So I picked up this book from one of our book stores, which was a new arrival that particular period and quite popular too. This book has 198 pages with 13 chapters, it is an Indian print and once I began reading I ensured that I completed the book in a very short time, as the book was engaging and I could identify myself with. It’s a fable about reaching your goals, finding out your purpose and how to live your life to the fullest.

I loved this book and enjoyed reading it and did note down some points and over the years I forgot, now that I took this book again for the A-Z challenge, I read again.( I did some very quick reading to recall so that I can write R for Robin Sharma J) I felt quite motivated re reading this again and some lines were bouncing out of the pages for J like this sentence below”

“Six hundred and seventy two hours of inner work to profoundly improve every waking moment of the rest of your life is quite a bargain, don’t you think? Investing in yourself is the best investment you will ever make. It will not only improve your life, it will improve the lives of all those around you”
Some more lines I revisited in this book were as follows:

It is only when you have mastered the art of loving yourself that you can truly love others. Its only when you have opened your own heart that you can touch the hearts of others. When you feel centered and alive, you are in much better position to be a better person.

“To live life to the fullest, you must stand guard at the gate of your garden and let only the very best information enter. You truly cannot afford the luxury of a negative thought.

“On an average day the average person runs about sixty thousand thoughts through his mind, the most amazing aspect was that ninety five percent of those thoughts were the same as the one s you thought the day before.” Which is called the tyranny of impoverished thinking. The way you think stems from your habit, pure and simple.

When you dedicate yourself to transforming your inner world your life quickly shifts from the ordinary into the realm of extraordinary”.

Dare to dream that you are more than the sum of your current circumstances. Expect the best; You will be astonished at the results.

I would recommend this book and give it a ***** as it is written extremely well and the language is simple and easy to read and this books keeps you engaged till the end, challenges your thought processes, it made me think and reinforced what Lord Buddha said about thoughts  and how the quality of thinking influences the quality of life.

This book has Action summary – to understand the wisdom in a nutshell.
ü  Master your mind
ü  Follow your purpose
ü  Respect time
ü  Discipline yourself
ü  Serve others selflessly
ü  Live in the “now” Savor the present.
ü  Practice Gratitude
ü  Happiness is a journey
ü  There are no mistakes, only lessons, see setbacks as opportunities for personal expansion and spiritual growth.

“We are all here for some special reason. Stop being a prisoner of your past. Become the architect of your future.”

Thanks for reading my post, I would love to hear your thoughts, if you are participating in A-Z challenge, wishing you the very best.

Be Blessed & Be Happy !

  2. I read this lovely book some years ago and found treasures in it - I like all you highlighted Genevive. If I absolutely had to choose only one , it would be "When you dedicate yourself to transforming your inner world your life quickly shifts from the ordinary into the realm of extraordinary”. But they are all very powerful! I love the action plan! Thank you for sharing this with us xx
