CHOWMAHLLAH PALACE - HYDERABAD

C is for Chowmahalla Palace, it  is a beautiful palace in the city, located just closer to Charminar, one of the historic monuments and very famous and popular in Hyderabad.

This palace was the official residence of the Nizam of Hyderabad while they ruled their state. The palace is one of most ancient heritage buildings and a must see… the name stands for four palaces (Chow means 4 and mallah is Palace).

“Travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer.” – Unknown

My daughter has been complaining that we have not taking her out for holidays; my son was small and sickly, so could not really go out, and I found that we were depriving my daughter of her right to  visit/travel and see places. Then after David’s accident, it was getting difficult for him to walk and take us around, its then that I decided to take my daughter and visit some places both within the city and also outside the city.

It is so surprising that having born in Hyderabad and living here for almost 50 years, I did not see this palace.  I am grateful to my daughter for pushing me to explore sight seeing in Hyderabad. It was such a pleasure for me moving around with her and for the lovely feeling you get to know, that somehow we are part of this historic past.

This palace is maintained very well and is one of tourist attraction in Hyderabad. I am glad to have seen this palace; it was a lovely experience for both me and my daughter wherein we spent time in looking at the decorated palace along with gardens and fountains. My daughter was very excited to see the palace the collections in it from close quarters. We can take the camera provided we take a ticket.
