Gratitude Post -March, 2023

“The real gift of gratitude is that the more grateful you are, the more present you become” –Robert Holden

A brand new month and it’s time for me to write my gratitude post. It’s important for me to write this so that I can relive every positive experience for one more time with joy, and keep myself happy looking at every small blessings in life,  for  31 days of the month has gone and we have completed 3 months of 2023. Here is my gratitude list for the month of March 2023.

There was continuous and meaningful work at our centre – I had regular students coming in and most of it was relationship issues, class room dynamics, differences in perception, fear and anxiety continues to be another major issues as there was assessments and semester exams.  I am grateful for all the opportunities I get to serve.

I am glad to connect with a person who has read my blog, commented and also given me a little more information about Frankel’s studio. A studio in Secunderabad that I was familiar as a child as I used to visit this place with my parents and there are many pictures clicked by them.

here is  the post, you can read: https://livealifeofgratitude.blogspot.com/2015/06/frankels-studio.html?showComment=1678964207876#c6200651529150305454

I feel grateful it’s a small world – person connecting with the above post from another part of the world made  me happy.

Being the month of March – there were women’s day celebrations – one was with members of the Young Women Christian Association (YWCA Secunderabad).  Another one was in the new community with the Self Help Group. I am glad to be one of the resource person for that day, and celebrate not just with the women, but celebrated and complimented myself tooJ I feel grateful for the empowered feeling of being happy with  myself J

I am blessed to have enough and more food, other than the regular home food- there were celebrations and I got to taste a variety of menu at different times with  different persons and places too. These occasions bring not just happiness of enjoying good food but also refreshes and motivates too. I am grateful for all these moments.

I am glad to watch a Telugu movie by name Balgaum, suggested by a colleagues who had watched. The title means strength and it was a great movie for a change, from the regular movies. The locations  was of  a village in Telangana, the customs, culture and the language, light humor and above all the script was a great one – with meaningful songs is worth watching. Grateful for the opportunity I get to watch movies as such.

I am grateful for the opportunity I get to teach -   this kept me busy for the whole month, as a lot of time goes in preparation. There’s a kind of fulfillment when I teach especially to the prison inmates; as we do not know under what circumstances they land here in prison. So I never get into knowing their background as it’s easy for me to teach, without knowing the details of every student.  I look for creative ways and work on the method other than just chalk and talk.

I am grateful for the gift of friends in life – this month there were three birthdays of my friends; and we as a group ensured that we celebrate them. Hence we could celebrate two different birthdays at their own favorite restaurants. One more person gave us a treat after her birthday and it was appreciated by the team. There was also my nephew’s son Nathu’s birthday and I am thankful to God for the gift of all these persons in my life.

I am grateful for a friend who visited me and spent some time at my place; its been a long time since we met on a one on one individual meeting; as she is always busy and I too need to take some time out. I am happy to have spent time with her and could do some special cooking, enjoyed some time in the kitchen making some vegetarian lunch, as she was avoiding non veg in this lent season.

I am glad that Dorothy keeps herself busy other than continuation her education, working with a start up, – busy attending meetings as she is on the National Board of YWCA India, leading the choir for 10a.m mass and chilling out with her own friends. I am grateful she is doing well and in good health This month she baked a chocolate cake, it was delicious and I am happy that she is trying out recipes whenever she wants to and its interesting to observe the efforts she takes, in buying everything required, checking out the recipes and does her work. . It’s a blessing to have a daughter who is mature and caring.

This month one of my cousin Ruby Yesudas (Pune) as young as 40 years died, she was teaching English in two colleges as a part time lecturer. She was committed to her work and was a helpful person, the students loved her as she used to be very helpful; it came as a shock to me as I never expected this news. She was in touch with me and was regularly sending me inspiring messages on whatsapp. Sometimes I used to chat for a while and my last conversation with her was my invitation to her to come over to Hyderabad for a break. She was devoted and full of faith – a reminder that death can happen to any of us… its important we live one day at a time, making a difference in the lives of those around us. I am glad she was part of my life and am grateful for all the interactions she had with me.

This month David was busy with the Lenten prayer services – and he also organized a day’s tour to 7 churches within the city. He was busy coordinating 3 buses and also arranging breakfast, lunch, snacks and tea. I am grateful that he also takes care of washing clothes in the machine, taking care of plants, buys weekly vegetables and on the whole manages all the outside work.

I am happy about the month that passed by, there is nothing much to complain in life – the weather was cool for a couple of days, it even rained, now its back to the normal summer. All the service providers are helpful- the one who brings newspaper, milk packet come at the door step, the provisions, and the bills for electric consumption, the property tax can be conveniently paid both offline and online, there are persons to help in the kitchen, at workplace and still there are mentors and guides who are always there to support.

I feel happy, grateful and blessed for everything

Thanks for reading this post, appreciate your time !

Be Happy & Be Blessed !
