Gratitude Post for June 2022

The month of June was an exciting one as I was looking forward for a break from my routine and spend some quiet time at the beach, just moving around without any fixed schedule. I am grateful for the opportunity to travel to Pondicherry with my daughter as she too needed a break after a long time in her life. Now that she is graduated and scored well – I wanted to gift her with a travel vacation where she could spend some time doing nothing and also relax without any agenda for the days.

We were glad that we could take off for a week and go around Pondicherry, exploring some places, spending time in the beach side, took a walk at the rock beach near the white town and enjoying breakfast, lunch and dinner allowing ourselves to eat what we want to and spent some quiet time at Aurobindo Ashram. We also visited some of the churches nearby and it was beautiful to be sitting quiet and see so many people walking into the church and quietly praying.

I am grateful for the friends of my life – I visited a good old friend at Chennai and spent a day with her and her family, it’s a very old friendship that begun almost three decades ago while we were together in the hostel. I am happy and grateful even though our lives have changed, we have taken different paths but continue to remain friends and its a blessing to have people taking care especially when you are travelling- grateful for the love, and all the good food I had during my stay at her place and she even packed our dinner for travel. I came home happy, refreshed and rejuvenated to begin my routine.

I am grateful to God for we came back safe from the journey, happy with plenty of memories to relive and stored deep in our hearts.

The month of June was great there were celebrations, my nephew invited us home for Father’s day lunch and we celebrated it as a family praying together and even watched a Tamil movie.

My sister in law celebrated her birthday this month, and we had a sumptuous meal for lunch, and we also watched a Tamil movie on amazon, and came home just to rest, without having to do any work as there was no need, grateful that we enjoyed our meals, with tea and cake and there was no appetite after that, grateful for all these experiences and privileges having brother’s family living close by.

Glad that one of our neighbors on the second floor sent us some mangoes which they got from their native place- straight from the farm and it was sweet and delicious; I enjoyed having these mangoes with gratitude J

This month I was glad to visit my previous parish St Anthony’s church as they celebrated the feast of St Anthony. I have pleasant memories of this parish as I was an active member of this community, participating in choir, was part of the youth group, and attended regular services and spent a lot of time involved in almost all the activities of this parish, before I got married and shifted to another place in the city.

The church is now renovated and lots of changes has been done and while the church will be celebrating 50th Golden Jubilee year in 2023. I was asked to share my experiences and also forwarded some of the old pictures for the souvenir by one of my old friend, and I was happy to relive those wonderful moments and enjoyed sharing.  I was  happy to attend the morning service here and meet some of the old parishioners and even had breakfast in this church. I was overwhelmed being in this place as I recalled so many experiences that made me happy and grateful.

I am grateful for the opportunities I get in life to share my knowledge with youngsters, happy that the Young Women Christian Association provided me an opportunity to talk to the high school students on Drug Abuse and its impact on health, as this month we celebrate “International day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking” The theme for this year globally is “Share Facts and Save Lives” I took this session for the boys and it was interactive, session and I oriented them on the preventive aspects of staying away from all forms of substance abuse and say NO to Drugs. I was glad to hear them thanking me and also raising a few questions, which I helped them, understand.

The last day of this month was a surprise awaited me; I got a whatsapp invite from the Racha konda Security Council (RKSC-Police department) that they wanted to appreciate all those who worked with them during COVID time. We were 14 counselors who took up tele counseling responding to those in distress and I was one of them and all of us were called appreciated with a beautiful painting, and then followed by dinner. I was happy to meet everyone took my gift J and came back home with gratitude in my heart.

I am grateful that I could watch a couple of movies in a theater along with my daughter and some of my friends. I enjoyed both the movies as it was after a long time that we have started going out to theaters, it was a great experience. This month I am happy that I have watched quite a lot of movies, thanks to my nephew sunny who keeps me updated some of movies that I missed on Amazon Prime.

I am grateful that this month exciting and there was so much to be occupied, with regular work at the centre, and at the same time celebrations, good food, friends and so much of inspiration. I am grateful for every experience, situations, persons and every little thing that happened.

I am glad that we as a family are healthy, active and look for opportunities to serve whether it’s the church, home, or the place of work.

Thanks for reading my post, hope you had a great month. I would love to hear your thoughts.

Be Blessed & Be Happy!
