Y -Young at heart

This April for the #A-Z 2020 challenge I have taken short stories from book of Fr Anthony De Mello – “prayer of the frog”. I would like to share these stories and hopefully believe that these stories will inspire you too.

An Eighty five year old woman was being interviewed on her birthday.

Reporter: What advice would you give to people of your age?

Elderly Lady: “Well,” “at our age it is very important to keep using all our potential or it dries up. It is important to be with people and, if it is at all possible to earn one’s living through service. That’s what keeps us alive and well.”

Reporter: “May I ask what exactly you do for a living at your age?”

Elderly Lady: “I look after an old lady in my neighborhood.” was her unexpected, delightful reply.

I admire this lady for she’s young at heart and she is a role model and inspiration to all those around her. It’s such a beauty to see people who age gracefully and never give up on life; but have the right attitude towards life.

Thanks for reading this post, would love to hear your thoughts……

  1. A delightful post. Staying, or finding one's way back to being young at heart, is truly a wonderful thing. It keeps you engaged and offers a gift to those around you - and what's not to like about win-win situations?

  2. That is such a noble thought and work done by that elderly lady. We must live this life to the best of our ability, respecting other people, and helping one another as much as we can. That's the only way our world will be a good place.
