This April for the A-Z 2020 challenge I have
taken short stories from books of Fr Anthony De Mello – “the song of
the bird” and the “prayer of the frog”. I would like to share these stories
and hopefully believe that these stories will inspire you too.
Nasruddin became
prime minister to the king. Once while he wandered through the palace, he saw a royal falcon. Now Nasruddin had never seen this kind of a pigeon before. So he
got out a pair of scissors and trimmed the claws, the wings and the beak of the
falcon.
“Now you look like a
decent bird,” he said.
“Your keeper had evidently been neglecting you.”
This sounds funny to me - and I am laughing while I am typing this post; because this is what happens all the time in life. we build expectations about how the others must be... and sometimes may even attempt to change them to meet our expectations.

Thank you for reading this post, appreciate your time. I would love to hear your thoughts.
Its almost 27 days and we are in the lock down period. This lock down is something we have never ever imagined in our lives. Our plans were set and we were busy rushing in and rushing out, till a small little virus Corona Challenged us globally, and we are now staying home for our own and other s safety. while being hopeful in unlearning and learning to creatively utilize the time, let us remember and pray for all the service providers who are supplying us with what is required for survival.

Be Blessed & Be Happy !
Aah! This is so commonly seen around us. Asking others to live the way WE want them to live instead of the way THEY want to live. It is a sure shot recipe for disaster on so many levels!
ReplyDeleteThe King would NOT have been amused ...I agree with Shilpa, our preconceptions keep us blinkered ... not that she said those words - I'm paraphrasing :) xx
ReplyDeleteTrue Susan:) I agree the king would definitely not have been amused. Sometimes there is so much to unlearn in life to challenge our preconceived beliefs and attitudes....
DeleteYes :) Shilpa agree with you that this a recipe for disaster. Only if we could understand that people are different and value them for the differences.
