I was looking for a
short story but most of the stories were quite long, after the search, Finally I
decided to post one short story on gratitude from the bible and I hope this
inspires you.
The parable is from the
gospel of Luke chapter 17: versus 12 – 19
On the way to
Jerusalem Jesus was passing along between Samaria and Galilee. And as he
entered a village, he was met by ten lepers, who stood at a distance and lifted
up their voices and said, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us”.
When He saw them he
said to them, “Go and show yourselves to the priests.” And as they went they
were cleansed. Then one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back,
praising God with a loud voice; and he fell on his face at Jesus’s feet, giving
him thanks. Now he was a Samaritan.
Then said Jesus, “Were
not ten cleansed? Where are the nine?” was no one found to return and give
praise to God except this foreigner?” And he said to him, “Rise and go our way;
your faith has made you well. “
Lepers those days
were considered outcasts and were supposed to be in isolation, just as people with
corona are expected to be isolation J
What I loved in this
parable is Faith of the Lepers that healed all of them. What is amazing
is “a Samaritan returned to thank Jesus” (Samaritans were considered a second
class).
God’s mercy is for
everyone – just as the sun shines on all, so does God loves all.
Thanks for reading
this post, hope you are at home and safe.

Happy !
