December Gratitude 2018

“Life is a beautiful collage of priceless moments and memories, which when put all together creates unique
treasured master piece.”

Amazed at how December came in so quietly by the time I am looking at the calendar its already half a month is gone, its lovely month I have always loved December, because its Christmas and its one of my favorite festival and it’s also my son’s and my birthday. I feel good as there are plenty and more reminders from the beginning of the month.

Like this year I had two of my classmates visit as a surprise with a lovely sari for my birthday in the last week of November itself J so that I would have enough time to get my blouse and fall stitched for the sari.  I was so overwhelmed by their gesture and David picked up two saris and then comes another surprise a beautiful dress.

I don’t have to bother to shop and just live happily when everything happens without any effort from my side… I am grateful to God for all these friends and also those who are always there praying and giving me support. This year I never made any attempt to buy anything for myself as I already got so much I don’t want to invest money in buying saris which I wear only for occasions.

I feel so  blessed that there are so many people thinking about me even before my birthday J comes and I don’t really plan much and everything just happens because of the loving people who surround me and ensure that I feel special and enjoy the day..

I am glad I was able to celebrate Emmanuel’s birthday with our family and David always would love to donate something for the  kids in his name, and I took opportunity to meet  Mahesh a Down syndrome child, a year older to Emmanuel and celebrates his birthday on the 7th December a day before Emmanuel’s. …  I was so glad to meet him and spend little time on that day. I was happy to have Sam my nephew to take me to his house; being late in the evening I needed a help as David was busy so I was glad that Sam accompanied me and also helped me in getting the cake for him and take a few pictures to make most of these simple moments into memories.

The next day I was tired and was in no mood to make breakfast and then, I find my sister in law Anuja coming home with hot idli’s and chutney… I am amazed at how these things occur and never cease to thank God for these small gestures.  Christmas season  is always magical - as it’s a time to care, share and show love to our less fortunate ones and  bring joy among all those who have been serving us throughout the year and being grateful for every small little blessings.
December was very cold and I struggled with cold, cough and chest congestion, despite visiting the doctor and taking all the antibiotics, progress was slow, with gratitude and affirmations and positive outlook the problem still continues BUT it has not stopped me from celebrating, attending work and taking care of my family and having some fun with friends who stopped by to cheer me up.

The weather was not conducive for morning walk which I was committed for everyday- I love how every time I get stuck with something, there’s a kind of divine intervention, a treadmill came into my house as a gift and blessing which made me feel grateful for the whole process as to how it happened and that too suddenly, David and Dorothy were was very happy as they  had stopped for a while going to the gym so the treadmill came in at the right time and its so useful especially when you find it difficult to step out the house for walking /exercise.

I am eternally grateful for the food that is plenty at home and we have never gone to bed hungry or angry J feel blessed to have a home that is safe, secure and comfortable to rest, relax and begin the days… there was no complain for what to wear, we had enough for the season and some of  it was shared ….happy that this whole year we had been alive every single day doing what we love and making the most of the time and talents that each of us are blessed with in our own simple ways… with David busy in the church and managing the weekly clinic and Dorothy learning to play the keyboard / singing in the choir and leading the children to sing.

I am glad to be associated with the Young Women Christian Association (YWCA) and their activities and it’s a pleasant feeling to be associated with women who share your values and evolve meaningful work.

I managed to maintain the gratitude journal- and started jotting down every day for things I am grateful for; I also regularly posted for Thursday Tree Love hosted by Parul, in fact I enjoyed clicking trees and sharing them in the group.  I have learnt how to use the instagram from my daughter J and keep posting whatever inspires me… still hoping to learn many more things from her.

29th December is my birthday and I will be a year older to what I am today – but happy and feel quite young at heart J working with young people and interacting with them has always kept me energetic and enthusiastic.

I feel blessed to have these opportunities in my life and it’s been quite a long journey in life and there’s been so much learning. I am thankful to my parents who gave me so much love and freedom to be myself; for my family members who gave some very great  lessons which I would have never learnt in life- enabling me to make choices to find my own path.

The beautiful teachers, who taught me, appreciated and affirmed what they saw in me and for my lovely friends who constantly keep in touch and bringing smile to my face; trusting me and my capacities I continue to go forth in responding to my hearts call…

I acknowledge the authors who have influenced my thinking positively; for the bloggers who consistently inspire and motivate me to keep away from negative thinking and focus on what is important for me… feel grateful..

Few more days and this month and this year is over and we step into another beautiful year 2019:
I express my heartfelt appreciation and thanks to 2018 before it moves away from my life: here’s the quotes that inspired me every month as I kept posting gratitude post for the whole year …there's so much more to be grateful for:) I tried my best to share as much as I can, the rest is all in my diary to keep reminding me all the time and focus on what is good.

“When gratitude becomes an essential foundation in our lives, miracles start to appear everywhere”

“Gratitude is an essential part of being in the present. When you go deeply into the present, gratitude rises spontaneously-
Eckhart Tolle”
Loved these affirmations given to me by Neomi
“When you are grateful fear disappears and abundance appears” Anthony Robbins

“Rich are those who treasure the simple joys of life”

“Grateful for all the lovely occasions…

“Gratitude takes nothing for granted, is never unresponsive, is constantly awakening to new wonder” Thomas Merton

“I am grateful for what I am and have. My thanksgiving is perpetual” Henry David Thoreau

“When we are grateful we affirm that a source of goodness exists in our lives” Robert A Emmons (1958)

When we look through the eyes of gratitude, life becomes Magical & Amazing Place” Jennifer Gayle

Ending 2018 with gratitude and hoping to begin 2019 with optimism, enthusiasm and faith in God trusting myself to be divinely guided in every step I take leading myself to the highest and truest expression of my life.

Wishing all of you a merry Christmas (as the season is still there)  and bright and prosperous New year 2019  !

May you be blessed with love, peace, health and harmony!
