This is the tree from St. Joseph Vaz Spiritual Renewal Centre, Cruz
Dos Milagres, Old Goa, wherein I attended a National Women’s Convention
organized by the Young Women Christian Association, India this month.
Glad to be part of this programme and the convention’s theme
was “Women Against Violence”
One of the purposes of this convention was to change the
perspectives, in addressing this issue, break the silence in our souls; the
silence that promotes violence, the silence that tolerates violence and the
silence that leads to complacency.

ReplyDeleteThank you Surbhi, happy to connect with you and appreciate your kind words:)
DeleteI love the quote at the beginning Genevieve .. trees fulfil their function and we as individuals can as well ...
ReplyDeleteHi Susan, looks like ages I have heard from you, thank you for connecting with me:) nice to know you loved the quote and agree with you about trees... yes every living thing on this earth has a purpose to fulfill...
DeleteWhat a wonderful thought! I guess we all can and do make a difference to people around us.. the thing is we ourselves dont realise this ... Wonderful tree.. at first glance I thought the pole was actually supporting it but a closer look showed it is a lamp post!
ReplyDeleteThanks Archana, for the affirmation, yes we can all do our bit.. I am sure you are inspiring through your posts... the tree stands independently, and there is a lamp post next to it.
DeleteBeautiful tree and capture. Was that a pole with light on it? If yes, must have been so beautiful in the night too with light peeping in and out.
ReplyDeleteYour Goa trip was good, Angela. Glad you joined and shared this with us. :)
Thanks parul:) yes its a pole with a light on it. The women's convention was inaugurated in the early hours with a procession of women representing from various regions of our country. Just opposite the tree is a huge ground. I clicked this in the morning. I am sure it would be great in the night.. Now its become a habit for me to keep looking for trees:) and capture them in my cell phone... thanks for this tree love exercise and feels so good to spread green virtually:)
