This April for the #A-Z 2020 challenge I have taken
short stories from books of Fr Anthony De Mello – “the song of the
bird” and the “prayer of the frog” .
I would like to share these stories and hopefully believe that these stories
will inspire you too.
An old man would sit
motionless for hours and in the church.
One day a priest
asked him what God talked to him about!
God doesn’t talk. He
just listens.” Was his reply.
“Well then what do
you talk to him about”?
“I don’t talk
either, I just listen.”
I think the best prayers
happen in silence of our hearts. We are so accustomed to reciting prayers taught
to us, that prayer becomes a monotony J.
Try listening to yourself and be careful how you talk to yourself because YOU are listening.

This lock down period
for COVID 19 has given us an opportunity to not only stay together but to silence ourselves from all the outdoor activities and connect with ourselves - reflect on our journey in life, finding answers for the very purpose of existence.
The real challenge is Listen to ourselves and listen to our own family members, which will empower us to never taken them for granted . #Stay Home and #Stay Safe

This is such a profound thought! I think this is the best form of prayer!
ReplyDeleteThank you shilpa, I am glad you found this post profound.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Shilpa. Listening is an art, we're so used to habitual ways of praying that we seldom have time to listen to what we are saying and what God is saying. Thank you Genevive, am much enjoying your words of wisdom.. xx
