My gratitude for today:
The most satisfying, meaningful and joyful moment
in the last week has been - an outing with friends and updating ourselves with all
the happenings of our lives;
Enjoying the hot snacks and relishing Kulfi
(which is like an ice cream) recalling memories of enjoying this Kulfi during
our college days which we used to get it for Rs 5/- and now we bought it for
30/- and reliving those wonderful moments.

All of us friends have grown and changed in so
many ways; we have put on weight, we look a bit shorter, with hair fall our
hairstyles have changed, with handling and balancing our lives we have tanned,
and lost the glow on our faces; but we have remained children at heart.

With shouldering responsibilities, bearing
children, we have developed issues with our hormones, developed knee problem,
have become anaemic and had suffered health issues, relationship issues, have
got new labels, as wife, mother, daughter in law, sister in law and aunty etc
but our laughter has not changed; our sense of humour remains the same; we have
learnt to fight back and have become stronger and independent over the years.
We are excited to reconnect and are looking for
more opportunities for meeting; so I am glad that now we shall create many more
opportunities for learning, sharing our resources, also encourage, inspire and
motivate one another to reach our highest capacities in life…
It was a great weekend – time with the family,
attending a silver wedding, resting, relaxing and being happy and content with
everything, and now grateful for the brand new week.
Thanks to http//:womenfreebies.co.in for the lovely image of Kulfi.

ReplyDeleteI actually replied earlier this morning or yesterday but I was using my phone and it wanted me to log in with passwords etc which of course I didn't remember at the time. I'm glad I remembered and coming to your post, albeit late in the day (so to speak), is like a double dose of inspiration.
Thank you Susan for being here twice; I am so honoured by your presence. Friends have always made my life very rich; and of course I treasure them and its a great feeling to have friends who love and accept you despite who you are... glad to interact with you at the end of the day; and for me you are a great inspiration, and this is last thing am doing before logging off for the day, thanks a ton, I do appreciate you..
DeleteThank you Genevive, I appreciate you enormously :)
DeleteMeeting old friends is always a great experience. Times flies, re-living and remembering the past and enjoying the present. The Kulfis look yum and I must check my fridge for something sweet now :)
ReplyDeleteagree shilpa, reliving and recalling is to have the double experience of past, filling us with enthusiasm and desire to keep meeting often... I too loved kulfi's .. now with age .. just trying to control and some days I break all the rules and just go ahead happily.. hope you found some sweet to savour your taste buds....
