Beliefs are very important and they play a great role in shaping our outlook. Our responses to life situations, and events depends to a large extent on the kind of beliefs we hold about ourselves, others, nature, world and God.
We are greatly influenced by what we believe, and our beliefs are based on real life experiences which could be either positive or negative. Often it is not easy to identify our beliefs, and it takes a lot of courage to take the inward journey of understanding one self and exploring what is in us and what governs our behaviour and life styles.
Some of the limited beliefs that I struggled were:
I am no good, I am a failure – I repeated my exams, so I am not worth
Whatever education I have, ultimately I will be working in the kitchen
I can’t handle money; money is the root of all evils etc……
It took some time for me to think, pause, reflect, and challenge myself to change these beliefs which were damaging my personality making me shy, fearful, insecure and anxious.
I needed a new set of beliefs to empower myself. I took charge of myself, and affirmed myself regularly and worked hard convincing myself that I am good, capable and precious. I can handle not just money, but everything under the sun, I have great capacity to work and I believe that life is worth living!
Believe in yourself and Be Happy !
