Laughter, the best medicine to
diffuse stress. It is a proven fact that having a heartily laugh helps in
reducing stress. I am lucky, that
laughter has been so much part of my life.
I remember, even from childhood, I laughed so much even for silly
jokes, that I was always healthy and happy. I never forget funny situations and
whenever I think about it I laugh and share with family and friends.
I remember when I was in school, I
and my friends used to pluck mangoes from the tree, which was very well guarded
by the nuns in the school compound. I and my friends used to hide in different
sides and make funny noises, when the caretaker goes to check in, one of us used
to run and pluck the mangoes from the opposite side, giggling and laughing so
much for having escaped from being caught.
Another time, I hid roasted groundnuts in
my school uniform pocket. The teacher was busy writing on the board; she was
very strict teacher, who taught us social studies, if we provoke her, she will
throw whatever is in her hands on the students. I have witnessed books, duster,
chalk pieces flying across in the class room during her class.
Reluctantly I took out some nuts,
and put in my lap, trying to balance it with my legs under the table, and slowly
began munching, sitting right in the first bench. I was confident that the
teacher will not look at me, for she was always looking at the last few
benches, as she felt that they were the most mischievous in the class.
Suddenly the teacher hit the duster
on the table with such a loud noise, wanting us to be attentive. Suddenly
my legs shook, and there ran the nuts on the floor. The teacher and the whole
class looked at the nuts and the expression of my face, and started laughing. I
was so embarrassed, I quickly got up and picked up all the nuts and put in the
dust bin. Now when I think about it I laugh and tell my daughter.
Other than the funny situations I
can never forget some films I watched, that made me laugh so much i.e., Laurel
and hardy & Charlie chaplain films, I remember Lucy show on television, how
I used to wait to watch in the evening hours.
Even today I would love to watch
only comedy in the evening hours, some of my favorites shows is Tarak Mehta Ka Ulta
Chasma, (Hindi) Adithya channel in Tamil, and Gemini comedy in Telugu, and Comedy
circus on Sundays. I am happy to have relived the funny moments of my life today
You are welcome to share some
funny stories of your life !
