I – for Israel

One more dream place to visit in my life. As a child I was always fascinated by the Old Testament stories in the Bible.

I used to listen with great interest these stories in the catechism classes. I loved reading them whenever I was free and would be amazed filled with awe and admiration to know how God has been great source of inspiration.

Israel has been referred to Jacob in the bible; this name was given to him after he successfully wrestled with the angel of the Lord.

Jacobs’s twelve sons became ancestors, known as the twelve tribes of Israel. Later on Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt from slavery to land flowing with milk and honey. Israel is also supposed to be the birth place of the Hebrew language and today it’s a sacred place for major religions - Judaism, Christianity and Islam.

Today Israel is disturbed place, wherein religion has become cause for social unrest, tension and all forms of violence prevailing in this place.  I pray for peace in this land; and hope for a  change, wherein human lives become more important than religion.

Sending peace and harmony to all !!
