Access -Suzuki - My new Friend

I am happy to have a new friend in my life. It was love at first sight, I couldn’t resist, I quickly made the deal and brought her home with great pride. I did have other friends, who are no longer with me, but I am grateful to them for having made my life comfortable and easy. This friend looked stunningly beautiful in red and extremely attractive, and it was easy to befriend and I quickly learnt to adapt myself to her.

This friend now carries my entire load – my bag, tiffin, file and whatever I require, and also accommodates my daughter. I have not been riding for the last 11 months, and I am truly grateful to David (my husband) for helping me reach office on time, and also taking me everywhere on his scooter, sometimes it was tough for him, as he had to come out of his way to reach me and then get back to office.

I enjoyed the luxury of being dropped and picked up, on the other hand, sometimes I did feel tied up, losing out on time, and extremely dependent – but I let go off the stress and relaxed to be cool, treating myself gently and valuing the  support and help that I received.

Once again! I am back to riding and enjoying the freedom of getting everything done on my own.  The first thing I did when I went to take the bike from the showroom,  was to pick up a matching helmet, to protect my head and then a driving coat to save myself from scorching heat.

Dorothy my daughter was waiting eagerly to see, and with great excitement came out for a ride – together we went for an ice cream, went to the church, got the bike blessed and came home driving with happiness.

A VERY SPECIAL BIRTHDAY !

Dorothy took this from the wedding album
This Tuesday 30 April was the birthday of my husband David. Maria Dorothy our daughter was quite excited about celebrating, and she went on planning for the day, in order to make it very special for her father. After exploring many options of going out, with her father and me, she finally decided for a movie at the nearby theatre and then a small celebration with cake cutting and dinner at home.

I and David took permission to leave early from work, so that we go for a movie along with my daughter and niece. We went for a Telugu movie, which was light entertainment, and then came back for  prayers, cake cutting, and a quick dinner was served.

Dorothy prepared a small programme for her father. She formally welcomed us, and told us that she would like to sing a song for her dad.

She surprised all of us by singing a beautiful prayer song with actions.
Later she picked up her dad’s favorite song and danced for her dad.

After which she invited me to speak a few words about her dad, for the first time in my life, I stood and told my husband how special and lovable he was, and how much I appreciate him in my life, and recalled a few moments to tell him that I was happy and proud to have him in my life, and I pray for God’s abundant blessings on him.

I could see my husband eyes moist and wet.  Then Dorothy invited my niece Rachael to share a few words.

Racheal was happy to share, and thanked him for his generosity and helpful nature, and above all appreciated the faith he had in God.

Finally Dorothy spoke and appreciated her father, telling him what a wonderful person he was, and how lucky she is to have a father like him. She thanked him for all those moments of her life, when he made her feel special. Then she hugged and kissed him on his cheeks and told him that she will ask the Lord to bless him with many more birthdays.

At the end of the 45 minutes programme, we were speech less; David was touched and could not hold his tears. I did not know what to tell her, but I was filled with gratitude to see my daughter express herself, it was my turn to hug her and tell her! How proud I was to be her mom.

She told me something which really touched my heart, Mamma! You see what a wonderful programme we had without spending a single rupee!! I agreed with her, for I was happy that my daughter has learnt to value experiences which money can never buy.

My Reflections on Blogging at A- Z 2013

A-Z challenge has been a great surprise for me, I am amazed at myself for having survived this challenge.  Even though I was not very confident, initially (as I have not been blogging regularly) – this challenge came to me as an opportunity to attempt something which I have never done before.

Thanks to my friend Corinne, who invited me, and shared with me about this challenge, and encouraged me.

Once I started with the first alphabet A, there was no turning back and I started writing for the other alphabets too. With the responses flowing into my comment box, it enthused me to continue, with zeal and I started enjoying this challenge despite discomforts and deadlines. The enthusiasm of my fellow bloggers was so infectious, that it helped me survive.

One remarkable achievement that came through this challenge was, the comments that filled my blog, for which I am extremely grateful for all the lovely bloggers who helped me to resurrect my blog which was lying dormant, with a few occasional posts, the blog had no life, and was almost dying.

The best part of the challenge was the thread that was created to all the bloggers, with motivating words and beautiful cover pages.  All those wanted to post could post, for everyone to see and respond. It was easy to read, as their links were available at one place. It was a fascinating experience for me to be part of this community that genuinely cared for one another, and inspired and lifted one another up to complete the challenge.

I found generosity of some of the bloggers who went out of their way, adding links to the posts when the bloggers were away some of them tagged along some of the blogs recommending others to read. I tried my best to visit as many blogs as possible with the limitations

Posting everyday and reading the other bloggers brought us closer to those who regularly posted as well as those who commented. I am impressed with so many compliments, encouraging words, virtual hugs and sweet smilies.

The interaction with other bloggers and their sharing’s brought in a lot of meaning, and I started loving it. It also helped me to focus on something meaningful and inspiring to post. This challenge also brought in certain amount of discipline and commitment to myself. Despite various problems related to power cuts, net connections and my own commitment to my work, family and self, I ensured that somehow I post on a regular basis.

I am also thrilled to have met so many different bloggers through this experience, each of them unique and had something very beautiful to offer. I enjoyed reading their poems, stories, parenting tip, philosophy, their personal stories, travels and discoveries of beautiful places, and the knowledge on cooking, personal care, photographs, etc.

It was definitely very informative and enriching to have such a combination of bloggers at one place. My heart felt thanks to all the organizers and every person who has made this challenge possible for me, and I would definitely would like to move on to make a commitment to write regularly, and spend some time in updating my blog, visit and comment on  as many bloggers possible.

For Now I take a small break, as I need to attend to some important aspects of my life, and hope to get back and be in touch with all you lovely people here!

Thank again & God Bless you in abundance !
